Auntie Beth Being Silly Because She's Feeling Better!

I finally went out of the apartment tonight at midnight to see a movie but there wasn't anything interesting to take pictures of...so I decided to play with the zoom on my camera, and fiddle with cropping, and learn my best side in photos...very convenient to be the master of your own camera so you can delete away really bad photos...of which I apparently take alot...I personally think the photo right above is truly my best side...
I'm finally feeling better but very unhappy with the laundry and work that has piled up...
and Meg's wedding is right around the corner...can you believe it's less than 6 weeks away? I should probably start shopping for shoes...how hard can it be to find fairly priced black satin shoes? I probably shouldn't have asked!
I'm gonna get photos of the outside of my apartment building and my neighborhood in the next few days...the inside of my apartment will take longer--gotta make it presentable by wrestling my laundry pile, affectionately named Harold, into submission...c'mon, he's hogging a whole room at this point...I jest...kinda...

I Miss You Guys:-(

Auntie Beth is still sick! This flu or bug I caught is not going away without a big fight...I thought if I stayed in bed all day yesterday it might sleep itself right out of my system but NO...soooo I didn't blog at all yesterday because I never really woke up...and I'm getting sick of being in my pjs!

However, I could've written one sentence and kept my promise to blog everyday...simply an "I'm sick" would've worked just fine...yep, I should keep my promises whenever I can. Then, I tried to justify to myself that I had posted two entries the day before---but that's just an excuse. I'm sorry. I will keep my promise to blog daily from now on:-)

I don't have a fever so that's good but I should probably go to a doctor if I'm not better on Monday or Tuesday...so much work to do with taxes and acting...and I need to be healthy to do it...how lucky am I to have a body that tells me right away when it's hurting or needs more sleep or needs rest? Lots of people ignore their bodies and then they get much more sick later on...BUT like I said before, I'm getting sick of pjs...and I just realized I'm missing the long Labor Day weekend...guess the doctor would have to wait til Tuesday anyway then:-)

Photos are hard to add when you don't leave the apartment to take any new ones but I'll do my best to get out & about soon...for now, words will have to do...I don't know if anyone reads this anyway so no biggie...miss you all!

I'm Gonna Wash That Gray Right Out Of My Hair:-P

For the Mommy & Auntie brigade...I found this really cool additive for hair dye that helps penetrate the grays and cover them up for longer periods of time...you just add it together with ANY kind of hair dye you use, permanent or 28 rinse...those pesky 20-30 white hairs near my face were breaking through my dye job within 2 weeks so I had to do something:-)

You can get it at Rite Aid-the closest is the one on Main Street in Middletown...here's a coupon link below!

Butterflies!!!

I'm still having tummy & throat problems from the bug I caught from my Godson Ben...very frustrating because I must stay home in my p.j.s for a bit longer...
Sooooo I had to find a photo I could take at home to put on the blog...my neighbor took this photo to show Molly that I still have our butterflies on my fingernails!
Molly & I got these butterflies done on our girls day together on August 8th-yes, I took her away from Mama on Mom's birthday but Kasey gave me full permission...
I timestamped the photo--with the nifty camera the H-Ws bought me--to verify that it's been a whole 27 days since we got them done and a whole 24 days since I've been back in CA and they are still on my fingers...
Many people have asked me why my nails are black or why I am leaving chipped polish on my other nails...
To which I simply reply, I can't bear to take them off because they remind me of my Molly:-)
Yes, that means I've had these on my fingernails for every audition and callback since I got back...I've gotten very crafty at how I hold my hands.
Say a prayer that this bug leaves me over the weekend. I appreciate it.
HAPPY BELATED BLOG BIRTHDAY TO TYLER!
HAPPY RIGHT ON TIME BLOG BIRTHDAY TO ANNIE!
To the birthday boy and girl, and to all my nieces and nephews...you kids are the light of my life and I cannot imagine my life without you...thank you for giving me the chance to be your Auntie...you make me a better person every day, and you teach me how to love bigger, better and stronger every moment I'm with you!

My Tax Client, Friend and Pilates Teacher, Marcy

Every Wednesday night and Saturday afternoon, I go to my pilates class taught by my good friend Marcy. It's kind of like a dance class or playing a sport...it's my favorite form of exercise to make my body healthy & strong.
Marcy and I met when we worked at the casting office of the tv show "CSI" 3 years ago. We both volunteered once a week to see how actors get parts on a tv show....but once we started chatting a bit, there was much more to discuss!!! Eventually, Marcy asked me to be her tax chick and I asked her to be my fitness coach. When I got really sick with my tummy a few years ago, my doctor said I recovered more quickly than expected because I had worked with Marcy on my strength for the 6 months beforehand. Yeahhhhh, Marcy:-)
This Saturday, Marcy is going to Ireland to build houses for poor people with Habitat for Humanity. Auntie Leenie & Uncle Pete (Grammy & Papa) and I donated money so that Marcy could buy supplies for these houses. Thanks to God & all the people who love her, Marcy raised enough money to reach her goal of $2500. Marcy is very spiritual so she would definitely put God first and foremost as the source of her success on this project...because in the end, God brought all the people who love her into her life, right?
After class tonight, I asked Marcy to pose for a quick photo...she tried to say she was a wreck, but eventually gave in...I love Marcy!!!

Memories from my recent CT Trip...

Auntie Beth had a rough tummy day as she apparently was not fully recovered from the bug from the weekend...so not much to report...but that means I can go backwards!!!
On the Wednesday night of the week I was home, Meg, KK, Kasey, Lisa & I met at On the Border for some girl time...I hadn't seen Auntie Lisa in a long time so it was long overdue...we ate great Mexican food-is this a theme with my dinners with friends?-and there were a few margueritas and Corona beers on the table...we also celebrated Auntie KK's new teaching job which I hear is going very very well...
A waitress was nice enough to take our group photo and may I say we are fabulous? :-) Of course, I also needed a photo with Auntie Lisa because we don't see each other nearly enough...she may even let me take Ella for a playdate next time I'm home if I'm really good!

My Best Friend in Los Angeles, Miss Bridget...and the Snuggalicious Daphers!

This is my friend Bridget who is also an actress & a tax preparer. Other than the additional fact that we get along, our similarities probably end there...but we understand the unique challenges of each career and how these two careers can conflict, so we need each other desperately when noone else understands.
Tonight we had my late birthday dinner at Senor Fred's (Bridget's VERY late birthday dinner is next!). Yep, Bridget treated me to some yummy Mexican food and to some much needed catch up time. Just like Auntie Meg, Bridget is planning her wedding....except that Bridget is getting married in February in South Africa...that's 30 hours of travelling time away for the children who are counting...
When I dropped Bridget off at her house after dinner, I popped in to get some shots for the blog...and although I told Bridget about our family's propensity to post makeupless grungy photos, she still wanted a disclaimer as to her caliber of camera worthiness tonight...but I ask, who wouldn't be happy to look like Bridget without makeup? I digress...
When Bridget and I worked at the tax office together, Daphne would come to work everyday. Intrigued by her skittering in & out of my room, I eventually learned to bribe Daphne for her affections with food...after 6 years, I'm happy to say that Daphne now gives me her love freely...although she's not above a good bribe now & then:-)
